How to sell your rare coins

If you are wondering how to sell your rare coins (as opposed to where to buy rare coins), there are various options that you can consider. Firstly, we don’t buy coins directly ourselves so please don’t contact us offering coins for sale. We collect, but we don’t buy to resell. What we recommend is that you sell your rare coins on the world’s biggest marketplace, and that can only mean one place. Ebay. Some people think Ebay is overrated and past it’s best. We think it’s still the best global marketplace there is. Yes, there are fees but then auction houses charge fees and so do coin dealers who will only pay you a percentage of a coins value to start with. And it’s very easy to sell on ebay. If you’ve never sold anything on there before, don’t worry, it’s easy and you could be turning your coin collection into cash in no time.

You start by Registering on Ebay. It’s completely free to register and there is no obligation to sell anything once registered. If you’re not already registered, it’s worth doing anyway because you can also buy fantastic rare coins 24-7 from all over the world. As a seller, if you are selling good quality coins then there is no reason why you won’t get the true market value for your coins and if you’re lucky and you have something particularly interesting, you might even get more if there are a couple of interested parties who decide to start bidding against each other!

All you need is your computer or a tablet or smart phone (which you have already otherwise you wouldn’t be here) and a digital camera or scanner because you will need to add some reasonable quality images of the coins for sale. If you don’t know how to grade your coins, you can avoid problems by showing several clear images, or alternatively, buy a coin collecting price guide and they will explain how they arrive at the gradings used.
