The coin design features lyrics from the famous Scottish song Auld Lang Syne which is traditionally sung at hogmanay (new years eve). The coin includes the words from the song ‘We’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet for auld lang syne’. The outside of the coin is inscribed with the words SHOULD AULD ACQUAINTANCE BE FORGOT.
